Jaw tension & teeth grinding

Jaw tension and teeth grinding often come from stress, focus or poor sleep. A buccal massage releases the chewing muscles, such as the masseter, from outside and inside the mouth. Many people feel more space in the jaw and less tension in the head and neck afterwards. It does not replace your dentist, physio or night guard.

Tight jaw muscles are an underrated source of tension. They can show up as headaches, a sensitive face, a tired jaw in the morning or discomfort in the neck. Often you only notice how hard you clench when someone points it out.

How do you recognise jaw tension?

  • You wake up with a tired or stiff jaw
  • You clench your teeth at your screen, in the car or during sport
  • Your partner hears you grinding at night
  • Headaches at the side of your head or around your temples
  • Your mouth doesn’t open as wide as it used to

What can a jaw massage do?

With Reveal, Yasmin releases the masseter, the powerful chewing muscle below your cheekbone, and the muscles and fascia around it. The neck and the long neck muscle (the sternocleidomastoid) get attention too, because the jaw never works in isolation. The nervous system settles and many people feel deep relief.

What can’t it do?

A massage does not cure bruxism and does not replace a night guard, dentist or jaw physiotherapist. It can help reduce muscle tension, alongside what your doctor or dentist advises. Persistent pain or clicking in your jaw? Please also have it checked medically.

Questions

Does it replace my dentist, physio or night guard?

No. A treatment can help your chewing muscles relax and ease discomfort, but it does not replace medical care. If pain persists, please also see your dentist, GP or physiotherapist.

Does buccal massage hurt?

It can feel intense on tense spots, but it is never forced. Yasmin works within your limits and you say what feels right. Most people find it deeply relaxing.

Is this for men too?

Yes. Jaw clenching, teeth grinding and tension from stress or sport are just as common in men. The treatment is calm, practical and no-fuss.

How often should I come?

One treatment often makes a noticeable difference. If you want to go deeper, a short series a few weeks apart followed by occasional maintenance works well for many people. Yasmin will discuss what suits you.
